Participants of the project

The beneficiary of LIFE-Nature project is the Duna-Ipoly National Park Directorate, which realises the five-year-long nature conservation project with its two partners, the Nagykőrös Municipality and WWF Hungary.

The nature conservation modifications of the forest management plan, essential for the success of the project, were carried out in 2006 by the assigned employees of the State Forestry Service (from 1 January 2007 the Central Agricultural Office, Department of Forestry).

The major part of the project area belongs to private silvicultures while a smaller part to Nefag Zrt (state-owned company). Through agreements with forest proprietors we can ensure that forestry management actions harming the precious habitats are halted and that only conservation management and environmental education activities are carried out.

The main supporter of the project is the European Commission’s LIFE fund, its co-financer is the Hungarian Ministry of Environment and Water.
